Jim Shade

Jim Shade is the MMBA Judging Coordinator.  Jim began his pageantry career as a marching member of the Westshoremen Senior Drum & Bugle Corps and then with the Bridgemen Junior Drum & Bugle Corps. Over the past 40 years, he has served as instructor, designer and consultant for numerous marching bands, drum and bugle corps and color guards including Northern Lebanon HS, Shikellamy HS, Red Land HS, Mt. Carmel HS, Whitehall HS, Lebanon HS, Johnstown Area HS, Baldwin HS, Cumberland Valley HS and Biglerville HS. He also has held similar roles for such groups as the Bluecoats, Railmen, Crossmen, and the Westshoremen Drum & Bugle Corps. His judging affiliations include the Keystone Indoor Drill Association, New York State Federation Field Band Conference, New York State Percussion Circuit, Mid-Atlantic Percussion Society, Indiana Percussion Association, Southern California Percussion Alliance, Rocky Mountain Percussion Association, Atlantic Indoor Association, Winter Guard International and Drum Corps Associates.  Currently, Jim lives outside of Harrisburg, PA with wife, Denise, and is a Senior Vice President at United Concordia Dental.
